I didn't think that this could be true when I saw it Johnson's coming out with a baby cologne so your baby smells fresh and clean. But it is true I googled it. It really makes me lose a lot of faith in the company that they would try and sell this for babies. How awful, just another scheme targeted at babies to make more money. I hope it doesn't sell...

My bet is that it's targeted at the mothers. I think babies clean from their baths smell really nice. Why would anyone want to change that?

Is this cologne for mothers who can't bother to bathe their babies?

I can't think of a better smell than a freshly washed and powdered baby! Even babies, first thing in the morning with that damp, slightly pissy smell is so...unique, and so, baby!
OK, maybe I'm weird, but even that smell is good to me, kind of like the smell of a warm barn on a frosty morning. Some may find both those smells bad, but I find them comforting and earthy and natural.

Now, a poopie diaper..that's different!

That would be an excellent litmus test: wave a baby under a woman's nose, and if it smells good to them, voila'--they're mother material! ;)

Agree that the best smell ever is clean baby, with no powder or scented products of any kind.

Shameful. Hopefully, smart moms, savvy to raising babies as naturally as possible, will be the guide as to seeing the demise of this newest/greatest thing.

Artificial smells on or around baby is a major pet-peeve of mine. Reminds me of the brand new smell of vinyl pull-on baby pants. Gaseous, odour-emitting, chemical plasticizer things they were until diaper-pailed/laundered a few times. I hated that vinyl/rubber smell on my kids bottoms.

I love bulldog toes--they smell like popcorn That's funny, so do weiner dog toes!
Just talking about the smell of a baby brings it all back. I can't even imagine a baby cologne.

I love the smell of babies and puppy breath. Nothing better in my opinion....
My pug's feet smell like fritos. I like that too.

But baby cologne - what a travesty!

I, also, love the smell of a freshly bathed baby and puppy breath but as for the puppy/dog paws, don't think I've ever smelled them (I know where they've been) but I like popcorn and Fritos. 'NO' to baby cologne, nothing artificially produced can improve on the natural smell of a baby (dirty diaper baby smell exception applied).

Babies, per se, have a wonderful smell. But, does anyone remember the smell of a new-born baby? It is unique to them for the first few days of their lives. I wonder if that is part of the mother/baby bonding experience...being able to inhale that wonderful, indescribable scent?

Am I the only one who remembers Love's Baby Scent cologne? It also came in a lemon scent. It was for young adult women and it was lovely...

It is a smell that I will remember fondly forever....Dd started wearing it when she was about 13 and did for years.
Now she is sensitive to scents and we wear none around her...hope there isn't a connection, but she sure did love it.

I just thought of one of my favourite baby smell stories..my Dfil who would have been a man in is mid 50's (who would never have changed a diaper or bathed a baby) when out children were babies. Many an evening at their cottage when I would bathe them/dried them/oil/powder and put in a clean diaper....only then he would put out his arms and say "I'll take that baby now".
It was a pleasure to see him enjoy them so much and brings back such fond memories of a fine man.

Iris Lily, I always liked beagle feet smell. They smell like popcorn, too. Babies smell kinda icky, IMO. But I don't think I would douse one with cologne.

My cat Thomas William (who, alas, lived fast and died young) always smelt of bonfires on an autumn day. Every time I smell a bonfire I think fondly of him.
