View Full Version : blessings
I just learned today that a good friend lost her only grandchild from her only son. A young girl, full of promise, heading off to college, bright future ahead. Car crash.
I am so blessed, I know that. So very blessed, with two healthy, successful kids, a good marriage, comfortable, secure living. So blessed.
I have, we all have, won the lottery in life's game.
That's all. Just, know how blessed you are.
And buckle up, please.
Called my son this afternoon just to hear his voice.
Oh no. That is so tragic. Her son & his wife are going to need her strength, widsom, and calm. Blessings all around...

So awful, I feel so sorry for the family.
That must be the toughest thing.
I'm thankful for all that I have too.
I really feel so embarrassed that I ever complain about the really trivial problems in my life. Yes, her son and his wife will need to find strength. I keep thinking if it were me, I just don't think I would have the strength to go on. It would absolutely kill me to lose either one of my kids. I truly don't know how people carry on from something like this.
How awful! Praying for that family! I think losing a child has to be the most painful thing imaginable. I can't even make my brain think about it. It just refuses to go there.
I really feel so embarrassed that I ever complain about the really trivial problems in my life.
Yes! I actually caught myself complaining about the fact that my weekend calendar was too jammed full of fun stuff and I thought, "Really Stella? That's bratty. Just stop and be thankful that even makes it onto the list of things you are worried about. Knock it off."

They say losing a child is the toughest thing to go through ... my prayers to your friend and her family.

Peggy, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend's only grandchild.
Two weeks ago, my son's best friend from high school was killed in a motorcycle accident. It is absolutely the worst, to have one of the beloved young ones gone. It rips a hole in your heart.
So tragic, and you're right, it puts everything into perspective pretty quick.
