There didn't seem to be any really suitable place to post this, so here goes. I have very rarely used my phone over the past seven years when I was overly busy and stressed out with my job. Now that I'm retired, I'd like to keep in closer touch with friends. Today I discovered that I couldn't get a call through to one of them because my cell phone number is blocked, and I'll be darned if I know how to temporarily unblock it. Could someone tell me please?

Not to get off topic, but I discovered that Tracphone no longer has anything that resembles customer service and I am ticked off. All that's available is a short FAQ and a user forum, and I'm still waiting two hours later for a confirmation email so I can enter the forum. Grrrr. >:(

Call your cell phone provider, as they likely have a specifc code you enter before dialing.

The problem is that Tracphone is no longer offering any kind of customer service by email or phone, so I can't do that. I thought there might be some kind of universal code for a temporary unblock. I'm pretty sure there was something I used for the landline, but I can't remember what it is.

Ah, I did find a way to email support, but if anyone knows the answer, I'd still appreciate having it.

Are you blocked by the receiving party? (this would happen if something like unknown caller is broadcast, and they choose to block those)

That's exactly what seems to be happening. Do you know what to do so the receiving party can see my number on their caller ID? There used to be a way, dialing *82 before the receiving party's number, but I'm not sure if that's the right key combo.

The only numbers I remember are *69 and *67 and I don't remember what, was what. One of them made you anonymous (not the other way around), while in my phones settings, it has the send caller id, in it as: default, yes, no. That should be where it is I would think.

CAn't your friends simply enter your name and number into their address book? Then their phone will accept you.
