Have beengone for about a week and a half, and have really missed all you guys! (Oops, does that make me some kind of needy addict?)
Went home to Kentucky to visit my mom, and she died while I was there. So trip was extended to cover the time needed for the funeral and various business things. I miss my mom tremendously, but this was right for her.
It is so good to be back among people who have some common sense and a simple way of doing things.

Sounds as though the whole experience of being there for your mother and able to deal with, at least, some of the consequent details will help you to cope with the loss. Welcome back!
