Back to the world of employment.....Last night I indeed did pick up a buffet/catering shift for a local catering staff agency and it was nothing that I could not handle and quite low-stress for the $10/hr offered. I spoke to several other temps there and they tell me come November there will be more work than I want for a few months, so perhaps there is a fallback plan.....Learn more on the computer, take a lot of catering shifts, and maybe finally follow through and start something up online. This is the course of action that feels right in my gut. Rob

Sounds like a good plan for the time being. All those holiday parties! Well, it's got to be better than working retail at the holidays, which is awful!

I am happy for you Rob. Low-stress and part-time sounds sounds perfect for what you are doing right now.....and that it feels "right in your gut" is the icing on the cake. You go.....

That's great! I know some people who used to cater as a side job, and they enjoyed it, too.

Yeah, Rob, that is wonderful.

Tradd said it's better than working retail for holidays, but you know, I worked retail for years for health insurance, while adjuncting as a college professor. I worked with a lady who did the banquet waiting and the retail both, and it worked really well together.

So think about picking up some retail shifts over the holidays--I think it's a blast, and it would fit well with the the banquet schedule.

And again, yeah for you!!!!
