I use the Kroger brand of organic chicken stock in the paper container. I also drink Almond Breeze all the time. Last week, I just realized they are lined with aluminum. I'm trying to read up on how bad that might be. I've tried to avoid things with aluminum in them for many years. I hope I haven't screwed up by consuming so much for the past 2 years that might be full of it. :(
I can't seem to drink the refrigerated type of Almond Breeze.......it upsets my stomach. That isn't lined. Dang. There's always somethin'.

Cathy, the aluminum in aseptic containers (chicken stock, soy/almond milk, juice, shelf-stable prepared entrees, MREs) is not right next to the food. There is at least one layer of polyethelene between the contents and the aluminum. Frankly, if anything inside the container would pierce that poly layer, I'd be far more concerned about that than I would some contact with aluminum.

My personal opinion is that an aluminum lining is far better than a BPA lining, and that for non-acidic foods it is unlikely to be an issue.
Incidentally, my grandmother-in-law lived to 103 with sharp mental faculties and cooked everything in cast aluminum cookware.
