View Full Version : Ideas for Corporate Thank You??

I have JUST booked my 100th project since going off on my own in May 2008. I'm happy that the 100th project was booked with my biggest client (the company I left) and the account exec is a woman who used to work for me before I quit that company and now she's a VP.
I really want to send a thank you notice (kind of like, "You're my millionth customer!!") type of acknowledgement and thank you, but what should I do??
There is a corporate office, but many people work remotely--so I can't really send a food basket and expect it to be shared by the people I'd want to share it. I'd like to thank some people personally, but I don't want to leave anyone out. I'd definitely want to gift about 10 people individually, but I want to recognize the company as well. For that, I was thinking of giving to a charity in their name.
Any suggestions?
Congrats! That is quite an achievement.
I have to say that I love some of our 'corporate gift' clients. One lady that contacts us every now and then that is her business - finding unique corporate gifts for companies or clients to give. One of her clients has a yacht called "The Polar Bear" and we made glass bear sculptures for them to give to guests of the yacht. We just made elephant sculptures with patriotic colors for a senator to give as gifts. We have another company that buys ornaments every year for their board members and we've made paperweights for corporate gifts. We're currently doing a corporate award project that will be a lot of vases.
Instead of a donation in their name would you consider offering them a discount on this project? A lot of times I will recognize some of my long term clients with free shipping (which gets expensive on glass). I just shipped to a gallery that has been buying from us for 10 years and I added a 10% discount on top of free shipping as a "thanks". That gives them a lot more profit margin on their order and they'll keep buying from me.

I think this is the simplest, straight-forward, practical, and even elegant solution. Notify them of the discount in a thank you letter (so they know that it is a thank you and not a permanent reduction of your rates) and address it to the 10 people you want to thank individually, making it clear that you appreciate them and their company and your relationship with both.
