I must be crazy, but be that as it may, this weekend we adopted this charming little man from the local animal rescue. His mom had been rescued pregnant from a hoarder/backyard breeder, and he has been fostered since birth. He's smart as a whip, curious, funny, and our 2 (!!) dogs love him. Gratuitous cute puppy pic!!!!! :D

Oooohhh. Adorable. Of course you had to bring him in, and give him a loving home. Congrats!

He looks like he walked right out of an old-timey children's book. What a cute dog!

He's hilarious. Right now he's yapping into an empty can.

His name is Gordon, and he's a French Bulldog. He looks big in the photo, but he's actually only about 3 pounds.

From what I understand about French Bulldogs, they, like Pugs, have their own unique interpretation of "behave" that we'll have to look forward to :)

He's very cute. What does pug dog think of this newcomer?

edited to add: wait--he's a Frenchie? Oh no, now you're in for it. haha

Already we see this. He's a terror on wheels. But adorable. Too late for us! :D

Pug dog is suspicious, and has already suggested to us that this houseguest should consider going home LOL They did play a rousing game of chase this morning, though, so there's hope.

I'm sure they'll soon be best friends.

Awww... just had to come back again this morning and take another look at him. Does he like giving lots of kisses?

Thanks for the picture! He is adorable. Now that we have a rescue at our house, too, I can't believe how long we went without a dog. He is such a big part of our lives now.

Just the right amount. He's more interested in play than smooches right now: eat-play-cuddle-sleep, eat-play-cuddle-sleep. My husband calls him "hurricane gordon" and the teenagers next door say his gangsta name is PuppyG.

Not very productive in my work right now, lots of distractions, but I know he'll settle into a more manageable routine soon. For now, I wait until they all collapse into an exhausted heap and then do my work :D

Yesterday was his first snow day - popping along in the snow like a tiny jackrabbit, puppy-yapping all the way. I know that not everyone is interested in pet ownership, but these are the kinds of small pleasures that make it worth the time and expense :)

He will turn out to be a terrific dog-sports kind of dog, very athletic and assertive. Agility and flyball both seem well within his ken; his new big brother is a retired agility champion and can teach him a few tricks. And then we'll volunteer (as we do with our other rescues) at the local adoption events, so people can meet them and see that adopted dogs can be and do anything. It works all around, Mrs. M.
