Does anyone use those 1,000 flush things in their toilet?

Good things?

Or is there something simplier not needed?

We use Bon Ami cleaner in our toilet or baking soda.

I noticed you are posting quite a few questions about cleaners - my fave fave fave book about the topic is Better Basics for the Home. (http://www.amazon.com/Better-Basics-Home-Simple-Solutions/dp/0609803255) Very comprehensive and a great reference.

I'm not (at all) a supporter of liquid or solid toilet flushes. IMO, they do little in the way of keeping toilets clean (truly clean), and all the extra added chemicals are detrimental to the water table.

IMO, a pair of rubber/Nitrate gloves, a bottle of cleaner such as Oxi Clean, and a sponge, is all ones needs to cleanse a toilet efficiently and hygienically, and depending on toilet use in ones home, twice weekly adequate.

I also support homemade concoctions.

I sprayed the previously mentioned heated vinegar/dawn dish soap mix in the toilets and let it sit awhile. We have hard water and end up with lime deposits. Toilets were shiny and clean after a light scrub and flush.

We just purchased a brand new low flow toliet and it says not to use any of these flush cleaners in it. Said it would be harmful to the mechanism of of it. But regular toliet bowl cleaners that you scrub with a toliet brush are ok. I don't know what kind of toliet you have, heydude, but if I were you I would stay away from a flush cleaner. I'm going to try Float On's cleaning concoction. I could clean my whole bathroom with that for way cheaper than any of the products I've been buying. :)

I wouldn't use something like that. Why have all those chemicals constantly flowing through the water? Not good for the environment, and you're probably breathing them in as well.

Also, my dogs drink from the toilet. :~)

DH bought some of those for his toilet. I don't think they did a thing toward keeping it any cleaner. The toilet got just as dirty just as quickly as without them. I asked him not to waste the money buying them anymore.
