View Full Version : Low flow shower head
I need to get a new shower head. I want one that's 1.75gpm, and is a good one. Any recs out there? I've been to Lowe's, perused the web, etc. and am looking for a brand/style that someone has personal experience with.
thanks!
Hmmm I got one from a free giveaway. One of the State funded energy saver kits. (you could google one for where you are. They have them in the UK also.) anyway, it came with low flow shower heads that worked well.
We have a 1.5 GPM Waterpik shower head that we purchased at Menard's about 3 years ago. Works well.
I got the cheapest one I could find (for my second shower) and jimmied the flow restrictor out of it. It works OK, but I'll be watching for recommendations.

We've been using a Target reject Moen shower head I found at Goodwill several years ago. It was missing a washer so it dribbled without it. One visit to Ace Hardware and a dime later, I was in business. I'd buy it again.

Hi Redfox, what brand is a good brand? I would like to do this in our new home too. They say to turn down the water heater to 120 degrees. Will have to implement these things in the new house!

Redfox: We have one like this that we think is the best shower head ever, and it certainly isn't expensive. Whenever we stay at a hotel with crummy water pressure, we wonder why they don't switch to these.

My one caveat is that ours is probably 10 or so years old, and my understanding is that the newer ones aren't as good as the old models.
