I'm generally fairly energetic, but once a week or so I get a day where I am just a zombie. All I want to do is lie in bed and read. I can't seem to find any behavioral/diet reasons for this.
Anyone else? Is this just life?

Whatever it is, listen to your body. Stay in bed and read. Have snacks, little meals during the day, a taste here, another then, healthy or carby (my personal choice), it does not matter. Those days are when I microwave a potato and take a big slice of meatloaf out of the freezer. Or a bowl of curry. Lots of toast and microwave popcorn. Try to fit a nap in there somewhere.

I get days like that but not weekly.
Have you considered keeping a log of these days, writing down things such as: weather on that day and previous day, foods and beverages of the previous day, hours of sleep, exercise, etc? Maybe that would make a pattern more obvious.

Besides it being Fall, and we're supposed to slow down, I wonder if you get tired when its rainy out? I know I do.
But I agree with Jilly.......don't fight it.

I get that way after what is to me a stressful day. It may not seem like a stressful day to others, but it registers that way to me. Keeping a good diary of past events may help you track the cause.

I've had a day a week myself for the past two weeks. Last night I went home and slept. Didn't eat supper, didn't get on the computer, just crawled into bed as soon as I got home from work. One night like that last week, too. I used to do this a lot more when I lived up in the States. Not sure if it was/is stress or time of year or what.

When I was employed out of the home, about once a year I'd come home from work, go to bed at 6PM and wake up the next morning at 6AM. Seemed like fatigue and stress built up and I had to sleep it off. Never lasted more than that one night but I had a health club workout routine that seemed to relieve the stress and invigorate the fatigue the rest of the year.

Happens to me too. I have come to think it is my body fighting off something I've been exposed to (virus, etc) so I take it as a message to heed.

That's happened to me from time to time, too... I second what pinkie said... The same happened to me a while ago and a doctor friend pointed out to me that the body is probably just fighting off some sort of virus or other internal ailment that doesnt display any other symptoms... it's just that the immune system is working double-time so there's an energy shortage elsewhere... Good excuse to get into bed and watch a movie!

Now I think about it, the weather/change in barometric pressure may have something to do with it, and also stress the day before. I keep a journal and will try to note these tired days.
Yesterday I really thought I was getting the flu or something; today, fine!
It's not regular, as in weekly, more like a random 1-4 days per month. I do have a full schedule and perhaps it is as simple as that - my body is saying 'go to bed Gardenarian!'
I'm actually glad when it happens on a work day; I can glide through work on automatic pilot, and just zonk out afterwards. I hate feeling crummy on a beautiful free day. (I feel guilty writing that, but it is true.)
