This book looks like it is a lot about a couple who wind up farming and develop an emotional bond with their animals, changing the way they view farming...

Looks interesting, but it doesn't get very good reviews!

Huh. I'm going to have to check this out. Tim and I are very casual online acquaintances, having exchanged private emails a few times about various subjects. I was following Harmony's progress very carefully for a while, but got busy doing other things.
Tim and I don't agree on everything, but his heart is in the right place, and last I heard they were doing a great job.
Thanks for the heads up!!!

Here is the Nature's Harmony Farm website:

I see they no longer sell chickens or eggs. Tim was dead set against raising Cornish Rock Cross meat birds, and insisted on raising only sustainable heritage breeds. Those birds take 6 months to reach a marketable weight, compared to 8 weeks for the CX, and then not nearly as large with half the breast meat customers are accustomed to. He was quite critical of Joel Salatin for raising the meat industry birds. A friend and I were wondering how that would work out for them. Not well, I guess.

I started reading it and it is pretty good so far, so I went back and checked the reviews. 'Cause this doesn't sound right.
4 and a half stars out of 5 from 59 reviews. Not bad, if you ask me. :)
