Just wanted to pass these on in case they help someone else.

Insomnia & Diuretics. I'd been having really bad insomnia since Dr. started me on diuretics for HBP. Did some research and found diuretics often deplete minerals--especially zinc--which leads to insomnia. The cure for me is supplementation with a combination tablet of calcium, magnesium and zinc--3 tablets daily that combine the 3. I take the last two tablets one hour before bedtime. Voila! Great sleep. Before, I'd been lying awake until 3-4 AM, tossing and turning.

Sciatica/herniated disk. If you suffer from either of these, you know how painful they are. My husband and the husband of a friend were cured by being treated by a health care professional (exercise therapist or chiro) practicing the McKenzie method of exercises. Often these conditions are a mechanical problem of compressed nerve or compressed disk pressing on the nerve. The exercises create distance and relieve the nerve irritation...then, pain is gone.

Google McKenzie Method or McKenzie exercises and you'll find a world of information on this. Now my husband does these three simple exercises right before bed time and has never had another episode of sciatica, which he had been getting more and more often--with episodes lasting longer and longer. His doctor wanted him to see an orthopedic surgeon after pain meds and steroids only stopped the pain briefly, and it returned again and again.

Don't start the exercises on your own. Please get evaluated by a medical pro specializing in the McKenzie Method.
