I am under the impression that people with diabetes and maybe a lot of old people wear white socks? Is this true and if so why? Should they be cotton?

If I'm right about that, would light-colored socks, like light khaki be better than darker ones, or must they really be white?

smart. i got my dad some wool and possum fur ones from here. warmest socks on the planet, honestly. It's because he doesn't always feel his toes. Since he's been wearing them (at least in winters), the doctors have noticed that his overall foot health has improved.

I'm not diabetic, but I generally wear white socks during the summer and black ones during the winter. White socks with lighter colored clothing, and black socks with darker colored clothing. They are all the same style, so I don't have to match them. No other colors, because life is too short to spend it matching socks.
My brother, however, always wears white socks because he says his feet are sensitive to dyes.

I'm diabetic and wear all colors of socks. I do like mostly cotton, tho; some socks that are stretchy feel too tight after wearing them for a while.
