Just finished posting on another thread a short time ago, and was rewarded with this (http://www.simplelivingforum.net/showthread.php?6501-Really-bad-taste-in-my-mouth-all-the-time&p=113970#post113970). (Scroll down to my entry/post to view).

Here is the word in question. sal****er

Anyone guess what it is? It's "salt water", all one word, but I'm trying to guess what the starred version is...

How about you? Have you been starred lately for using a bad or naughty word? LOL!

Oh - just posted my reply on the other thread! Vulgar term for a lady's privates..... maybe it's more of a regional thing, that many haven't heard it? I've not be starred that I know of - although I do growl sometimes and end up with the little ambulance thingy!

Now there's a vulgar word that I don't know! :laff:

Funny, I've typed some pretty salty things and never been starred. Let me try. ****. let's see.

Oh well, I guess it does work. i did post about crossbows awhile back and wondered about cocking the string and it didn't star me out.

Me, too, Wildflower! LMAO!

Early Morning. It must be a regional thing, or maybe the fact that I'm getting up there in age... that pre, old fogy age! LOL!

LOL, Peggy! If I were a betting type person, I would have guessed that your entry would have been starred.

T. w. a. t. is a British slang word

same for

w.a.n.k. and w.a.n.k.e.r

So we cannot say "I went to a s.w.a.n.k.y. party!" :laff:

the s.a.l.t. w.a.t.e.r. thing was funny.

I'll have to make a confession. A few months ago I referenced cocktail in a thread and found that part of the word was starred out. I immediately decided that our group really didn't deserve to be treated like goofy teenagers, so I took that word out of the bad word list. I feel fairly confident that we could do away with the vast majority of the existing 'bad words' in the list without anyone abusing it. What do y'all think?

Good ones, Iris!

I think it's great, Alan. Worst case scenario, we'll be able to use words such as "cocktail" and "sal****er". Unless of course people use them too much. http://ic.hobh.org/forums/images/smilies/1237398v1rcp2k7wb.gif

Alan, I think we could handle it! Go for it! It seems so ridiculous to have these words blocked out. I remember typing the word vagina on the old forums and it starred that! I couldn't believe it!

More bad words please! Yay Alan!

OK, I've whittled the list down to three. Please, let's not make too much effort trying to uncover them. :D

Ha! I also tried to type in salt water as one word here about a year ago and got starred out. Because I was a salty sea dog stationed with some VERY salty guys in my past life, I (sadly) knew what it was immediately.

But you never know people. In an earlier life, I supported a computer help desk's telephone system. One of the features was being able to reset your computer password over the phone -- enter enough information to verify you were you (the system could look it up) and it would issue you a password over the phone that would expire the first time you used it but which would get you in and choose a new password. One day, I heard from an irate employee who had reset his/her password earlier that day and was upset that the temporary password granted by the computer was "meatball". They thought it was a judgement on their forgetfulness. I removed that word from the list very quickly....
