I have always had a calendar on the front of the refrigerator where I write in various appointments and birthdays, anniversaries, etc. I like one with beautiful pictures, some years it is nature or birds, last year it was quilts. Next years calendar will be from the Audubon Society. I have tried keeping my calendar on my computer but it just doesn't work for me; I need something in my face and since I am quite often facing the refrigerator, it keeps me from missing dates.

How do you keep your calendar? Computer, phone, or paper?

My church gives out a calendar every year that I hang in the kitchen where I will see it. Otherwise, I keep my calendar on Google Calendar. It syncs easily with my phone.

I make my own, no pretty pictures, just the calendar part. I got the software from the DIY Planner site.

Computer calendar doesn't work for me now, either. I used to use online calendar/scheduling when I was working as an engineer, but for daily home use I prefer to be able to reference my schedule without having to turn on a screen.

I have a pretty calendar on the wall in the kitchen for reference but I keep all my appointments in a small planner that can fit in my purse.

I find all of the freebie calendars to be useless. They don't have big enough space to write in much of anything. Many years we get calendars for presents, but by the end of December it is too late, I need one now to start recording events for 2013.

So, for the past two years I've purchased a big lined calendar at Office Max for $19.99. That's a lot! But I am so happy to have adequate space, plus the Office Max calendar has next years months when I can pencil in things for 2014, plus it has a good hanger. The money spent is worth it.

We keep the calendar hanging near the kitchen and by the phone. It needs to be in a place where both of us can see it. I use it more than DH, but he does use it.

When I have an extra intensive run of events, I copy them out an put them on the refrigerator, and cross them off when done. But that's just for very busy periods, I recently had one of those from Mid-October to mid-NOvember.

I use a computerized calendar at work, but that's work. A computerized one would not work for home, I need to see it regularly and our computer is upstairs, we are often downstairs.

I used to manage seasonal calendar stores and always waited until the last business days when we sold them for a dollar. Now I buy a desk blotter kind at the dollar store. Those are only slightly smaller in size than the office supply store ones, but it works just fine. A dollar seems to be my upper limit on being organized, I guess.:~)

I have always used a paper calendar. Back in my work days I had a big desktop one for important events and a computer calendar for meetings and to block out my vacation so no one would schedule my time when I was going to be off. Now it's just a wall calendar in the kitchen with large squares to write in.

Computer (as it has been since, umm, 1989? :)) It just works better for me. Right now I keep work appointments and personal appointments on the same calendar, on my mobile phone, synced to a cloud service so I have a backup and I have it accessible pretty much anywhere I am. I also can use the cloud version to export to other devices (like my work mobile and my wife's calendar).

Paper wall-calendar all the way. I want something I can glance at any time. A paper wall-calendar has substance to it, and I get joy out of the surprise behind turning each month to a new next, and seeing what new scene follows.

I'm a both/and girl.

I create our calendar online with a different color for each family member and I love, love, love the function that allows you to repeat appointments with a couple keystrokes. This way it is easy to put in times of regular practices (cross country/track/frisbee) and music lessons and then stop them when the season is over.

But like other poster's have mentioned, we need a quick reference that is not online, so I print out two copies of the online calendar. One is posted in the kitchen, next to the desk and the other travels with me, so that I can make appointments without being at home.

This seems a little complex, but really it works well scheduling the activities of 3 teens.

DH always gets me a Farmer's almanac calendar for the fridge. It has the phases of the moon on it, which I like.
For many years, he also got me a Robert Bateman calendar for the computer room. He's my favorite wildlife artist.
Last year, DH got me a National Geographic Owl calendar, which is beautiful.

Mom always send me paper calendars and planners. I'm a computer sorta girl. I don't have the heart to tell her I don't use them. She gets them free from banks and such.

My week-to-week planner is a dry-erase board I have on the wall just outside my kitchen. I just refill one week's worth of activities with the marker and then erase and start over every Sunday.

But because my project life cycles are about 6 weeks long, I actually keep two wall calendars in my home office: One for the current month, and one for the following month. I ask for certain ones for Christmas every year and if I don't get one I wait until January and get a 50% off one. I typically like Thich Nhat Hanh calendars, but they're hard to find in stores.

This year I splurged on one of my 2013 calendars: I ordered it from the Portland Japanese Garden. I'm just in love with that place! Having a calendar with the beautiful pictures allows me to span the 3,000 miles of distance between me and the garden!

Portland has a gorgeous Japanese Garden! Just looking at pictures of the gardens can soothe me.

I have done both, but I rarely need an actual calendar since I see one at work all the time. The large desk ones are nice, but we get free ones given to us, normally with some sort of antique cars, hot rods or trucks on them, so I grab one or two of them (it is good to have one in the shop for other stuff), and generally leave some kind of a mark, so I refer to the computer for more into. (mostly it is some family event I have been told not to forget a certain time)

All of the above, to keep track of home and work life. I still use an At-A-Glance professional paper calendar that I carry everywhere; Outlook at work and on Blackberry, and I spring for this wall calendar for family life: http://www.moretimemoms.com/family-organizer-p-29.html. I am very visual, and just can't totally trust the electronic versions!

for family we have the wall calendar, the last 2 years it has been from this place

ahh love the calendar. This year however I may get cheerful and get a different one. I am surprised that no one talked about what is on the calendar. I really like looking at mine a few times a week. We usually have a 'page a day' calendar as well in the kitchen. Right now it is still the 'awkward family photos' one, I am hoping for a spanish word a day next year.

I think it is so interesting how differently we all use various kinds of calendars.

Same here, hanging on the fridge. If it's really important I put it in Google calendar and send myself a text at some point before the event because no one in this house ever actually looks at the one on the fridge.

I have a calendar with my email (Outlook) and I try to keep it up to date and print out a few months at a time. Then we update with pencil as needed.

Also keep a freebie calendar on the wall in the kitchen just so we can check the date.
