I bought a bag of Oreda fries. I opened them and dumped a few on a baking sheet. Cooked them in the oven and then put them on a plate.

There was a hair on my plate. I pulled on it and it unraveled from the fries and was like 2 feet long!

I have very short hair and live along. WTF?

dang!

Yuck. I would at least send a letter or e-mail of complaint to the company.

EEEwwwwwwwwww.......someone is not wearing their hair net.
Finding hairs in food is something that totally grosses me out.
Absolutely, call the company and complain loudly.

Or not. Hairs show up in prepared food. It happens. Sometimes it's not worth the effort to get all worked up and look up the number and put on your @ss-kicking pants for a coupon for a free bag of fries (that are frequently riddled w/long black hairs, anyway.)

Yesterday, I finally bit the bullet and called Honda to complain about the fact that my lawnmower that I've had since May broke with the same issue for the 3rd time. Got all hot and angry and knew it would be ugly. It was. I want my freakin' money back and of course they said "no go. Ain't happenin'."

So after cooling down, I decided that I was going to suck it up, take the d@mn thing in to be fixed as it's still under warranty and then sell it on Craig's List for a $200 or so loss and go out and buy a non-self-propelled lawnmower next year. Sick of dealing with this stupid issue over the last 8 years and I know it's time to admit defeat. Sometimes you lose. And sometimes the issue isn't worth fighting over.

I say keep it in perspective. That's what I think of when I think of living simply. You may see it differently.

Yuck! I found a hair in a can of soup a couple years ago. I haven't bought any since. Nothing grosses me out more than hair.

It's gross but I wouldn't do anything about it. It's not going to poison you.

Agreeing with Bunny, I am keeping my life simple by not bothering to go after a $100 discount that the salesman told me I'd get, but yet, wasn't rung up. That was 90% my fault and 10% their fault because I didn't notice it at the cash register. Only when I got my credit card statement did I see it. I have no receipt, it's not worth pursuing. Of course there is no way I'm ever going back there to buy anything.

I found roundworms in some salmon one time. I haven't touched salmon since.

What an appetite downer... Be good to yourself, Heydude, and look at making your own in the future. They are super easy to make!

I am more worried about the stuff that is too small to see in packaged foods (eg bacteria in peanut butter, etc.). A baked human hair would be fiber.

Hey. Dude. I didn't yell but it was tense. But it wasn't worth it. I knew it wouldn't be but I felt like I had to bc I'd spent so much on it just months ago. And I've been a CSR. I've felt the pain.

Iris: Way to let it go! That was beautiful.

I went out to eat with a friend in college and she was in such a state of panic over finding a hair in her slice of pizza. I took care of it at the counter for her but she couldn't finish the meal. She went on to live in Korea for years where when dining out with other Americans the game was 'who'd find the first hair, bug, etc..'. Glad she got over her fear, she would of starved in Korea.
