View Full Version : Mother Earth Living
It's a new magazine. First issue is out now. It's a cross of what you'd get if you combined Natural Home and Garden, Herb Companion, Herb Quarterly, and a sustainability version of Martha Stewart Living.
If you've seen it, whould love to know what you liked, what you'd like to see them do with it in the future.
Is there an online version?
There is a digital edition with subscription.

Thanks for posting about this, I have to look this over!
I was very sad to learn my beloved Herb Companion was no more. I started my subscription in 1989 and have kept every issue, and yes I do go back and reread old issues from time to time. That said, I do like the new magazine, it had a lot of good content, just not all herbal related like the Herb Companion. But it was all stuff I'm interested in, like alternative health strategies.
Herbgeek, I have wondered if the new focus would lose people who are very herb oriented or if it would get more people comfortable with with the advantages of using herbs--people who wouldn't have gotten a magazine just devoted to herbs.
I hope Susan Belsinger will continue to contribute articles to them. Learn a lot from them. It's always fun to see what Susan does with the International Herb of the Year. For 2013 it's Elderberry.
I think for every one of me who is disappointed in the lack of herbal focus, there will be two others who will read the magazine because other headlines got them to buy the issue who wouldn't have purchased a dedicated herb magazine. That's my gut feeling about it. I think it will help their circulation. Many herb enthuiasts are also interested in alternative health, and alternative cleaning products and raising vegetables and the like.

Sounds like my cup of tea! I'll take a look - Thanks!
I thought it was good, but as a long-time simple liver, gardener, green fanatic, etc, I did not find anything that was really new to me in the articles. I was a subscriber to Natural Home & Garden and my subscription was transferred to this new magazine. I will probably get 1 more issue before my subscription runs out, so I'll report back.
