I have had a few things build up and so I brought it up with my sup. We had some email back and forth and then realized we were not getting it clear so met yesterday. We are still on different wavelengths I think, we agreed on that by the end. She agreed to look back through her emails to see what I was talking about and I told her that we could take some time on this. I didn't want her put on the spot but would rather have us both think this thing through.
I feel I used my best communication skills because I didn';t make it worse. This is really something that has to be talked about. There was one thing she simply didn't see that way but she was less reactive. I work with multiple parts of our organization, I am the only one at my level who is crossing over like this but we may do more of this style. So there is no real model for parts of my job. The financial office I work with she does not need to work with at all for her other sites and I feel this negative or at least dismissive attitude towards that.
At least she agreed to walk off and think about it, I had 80 snacks and kids expected for various programming in 10 minutes. It really is something we struggle with her understanding, things like not scheduling meetings during this time or what we need to do, sigh.
