View Full Version : Returning the French to France
See them? I'm sending them back to France.

Last night they all engaged in the worst behavior they know. Dog shaming websites cannot address this chaos and mess they made int he house. They made multiple pee puddles in the living room. They made poo piles also, and ate them, spreading it all around. The sisters got into a huge fight which spewed blood 15 feet. One of them was injured and may require a visit to the vet. She bit me when I was breaking up the fight. And the final straw: when I had the injured one on my bed for observation--she peed in it!
Their passports get here next week and they will be put on the first plane to Paris. Remember the adoptive mom who sent her child back to Russia? Ma soeur, I can relate!

Oh no Iris Lily. Terrible! Are they all females? I have two female German shepherds, and after this , I'll only have a male and female. Too much jockeying for power. Are they getting enough exercise? Three is not a good number.
I feel your pain.
Sigh. So sorry.
Are you serious?
If so, are you looking for approval for your plan?
I think it's obviously facetious. It made me laugh, anyway.
We once considered a pug as a pet as they are so cute, but then I read that they will just lay on the couch and fart and belch, and I thought, well, we have Mr. Peggy for that!
Bad, bad puppies!

Such innocent faces.
Good grief! Talk about high maintenance...(But they are terribly cute. Or terrible but cute.)
Those barbarian French...
And they claim WE have no manners! :moon:

Fosters?
These are my own dogs. Our foster dogs are almost always better behaved than my own dogs. That is a sad commentary on this household.

They do NOT get enough exercise, I fess up to that. Three females. The younger ones are half sisters, ages 7 and 11. They fight like sisters; one is alpha and was our original Frenchie pet. Her arch enemy, the biter, is pretty nutty. We live with baby gates in our downstairs area to keep them separate.

I LOVE my Pug! He's a wonderful dog! Wouldn't trade him, and I've had many breeds of dogs over the years....he's a lover and a cuddlebug. :)
Iris Lily, I love Frenchies - so if you want to send one my way go for it, but I only want the best behaved one! ;)
But really, my sympathies! I've yet to have that bad of an experience, although our female Corgi often picks fights with our males....

Are you serious?
naw.
Things are a little more stressful than usual because we've got an English bulldog foster who is a GREAT dog except that he, too, fights with them. So we've got to keep 3 factions separate. But man, this English bulldog is Einstein compared to the French girls and I am enjoying him.
The photo above shows the Frenchies 18 months ago while the two sisters were still getting along and could be in the same proximity without trying to kill each other.
We have both a pug and a frenchie now, and so far they are maintaining some semblance of getting along. But the frenchie came out of the box alpha, a real mr. bossypants, and so I am girding my loins for some serious diplomacy when he gets a little older. The pug will lose his spot in the pecking order within a few months, if he hasn't already, and he won't be happy about that. Most people when they come to visit can't tell anything's going on, but I've watched too many dog whisperers ;)
They are both awesome dogs though, their swagger notwithstanding.
Here's a frenchie story that involves no blood: We taught Gordon to ring a little bell on the door whenever he wants to be let out to do his business (no doggie door). We noticed he'd sometimes be sitting there patiently at the door, and no one would see him, and so he'd just piddle on the mat and get on with life if we waited too long. So he learns, "ring-ring," he gets the door opened and we go out in the yard. Great, right?
Except I'll be trying to work and I'll hear him: Ring-ring. Okay, fair enough, that's what I taught him, so out we go. Five minutes later, ring-ring. Two minutes later, ring-ring. Ring-ring-ring-ring-ring. Ring-a-ling-a-ling-a-ling-ring-ring-ring. He's having a merry time making me get up and down to let him out, where he'll take a long sniff of fresh air, turn around and come back in. He eventually knocked the bell right off its string, and I have to fix it back up. Smart little monster trained me.
I hope your girls figure something out, Iris Lily, or maybe one of them needs to be re-homed? I couldn't deal with the disruption of all that violence....it would wreck my peace of mind.

But....
Look at those faces! And those ears!
You can't stay mad, can you?
Thanks for making my hard-headed dachshund and terrier mix look like little angels! :D
Awww... so adorable.
They just have a little Iris Lily in them. LOL!
Three females.
Ah huh. C'est la guerre.

Ha Ha! So true!! Iris Lily has met thy enemy - and it is (just like) her! By that I mean oh so cute and adorable but sometimes a naughty, naughty girl :-)!
Well I'll send Ratdog the Holy Terr(i)or over to add to the madness. She may not be french but I hear that the English have been known to keep the French inline sometimes.

My friend had the right idea--she got her dog a cat! He was thrilled ("For me? How did you know that was just what I wanted!") and the cat--a rescue having spent his early years with dogs--was equally delighted. No fights, no blood. She says her dog is obviously a cat person.
