Maybe the 2 chicken wings for $4.00 were free range and organic. I can buy 6 to 8 non organic for anywhere between $4.00 and $7. So, that could be a reason.

A pot of soup for 4 for $14? That's hardly broke ass. Cute name though, even though it really doesn't seem to apply to the contents.

Yes, it occurred to me that her recipes were pretty much what I would make when I'm not really being frugal.

Not organic, but we can get whole, already roasted chickens for $5 every day at the grocery store. The pho recipe sounds pretty good except no Thai basil. You HAVE to have Thai basil! And jalapenos!!!

Gregg, I have found that in a pinch tarragon can substitute for Thai holy basil. Kinda sorta the same smell/taste. (if you squint);)

Well, pho is Vietnamese ... and the French spent more than a few years there. Stranger things have happened. :)

Well, pho is Vietnamese ... and the French spent more than a few years there. Stranger things have happened.

To me that is one of the great things about Vietnamese food. It has some of the best of Chinese food and French food combined.
