Well, the power went out around 4, and of course I am now up, as I have no back-up for my APAP machine... And am I ever tired. Glad I have 3G on my ipad! My day is at this point officially toasted.

Sooo... Anyone out there have a battery backup? What is it, and do you recommend it?

Thanks... Sleepy in Seattle...

Duracell Powerpack 600, has all sorts of uses, this is one of the better ones.

This is good to know as DH had a battery pack that only lasted for three hours a night when we were our of power. Thanks!

The Duracell has had enough juice to deal with multiple days of outage. If you turn off the humidifier on the CPAP, you will use considerably less power, btw.

Thanks Bae, I will tell DH about this it will be a big help since he has a very bad case so this will be good for him.

But be aware its several hundred dollars.
There may be a less expensive one. Check out cpaptalk.com for more ideas.
I really need that humidifier........especially in winter. I think I'd rather sleep without cpap than with cpap without the humidifier. My sinuses really burn without it.

That's why you want the big Duracell then, or something equivalent. Plus you can jump start your car with it, or recharge a cell phone, or power all sorts of other devices. The AGM-technology batteries in it hold up very well over time, and hold a charge when not being used, the thing is a great bargain.

Cheaper solutions are likely, IMHO as an electrical engineer, to be less satisfying and more expensive over time. I looked into them extensively when I became a hose head. To be fair, I keep a couple of spare deep discharge marine batteries charged up and ready to use as well, as we lose power sometimes for a week or more, but those are expensive.

Awesome, thanks all! I too need the humidifier, though I could go without it for one night. I get a dreadful sore throat & don't sleep well without it.

I just ordered it... ON SALE at Amazon:

Power failed early this morning. Plugged the CPAP in, and went back to sleep.

Then when I woke up for real, the true purpose of the battery backup revealed itself:

Hahaha! Bae, that is awesome. I have mine all charged & next to my bed just in case. Sooo good to know that yes, I can still caffeinate the next morning... Thanks for the pic. You're a charachter, to be sure.
