I think I'm finally going to have to turn my heat on!

This is the latest into the fall I've ever gone without turning my heat on. We're supposed to get a snow storm with nasty winds tomorrow evening, dropping the temps from the low-mid 40s into the teens. I guess it's time to actually turn my heat on! It was a pretty mild fall.

It was only on a few hours a couple of weeks ago, after my landlord and the furnace guy was here, doing an annual check-up. They turned the heat on. I turned it off as soon as I got home.

My gas bill (for heat & hot water only) is going to be very nice. Last month's was only $29 - and $15 of that is the minimum charge.

My $200 something down comforter I bought 2 years ago (my third winter) is proving its worth.

My rental house is not well insulated. I only heat 3 rooms out 6, but when it's in the 40's and 30's I use the heater. We have a lot of computer action going on here, and I think that vampires a lot of electricity too.

Pretty impressive Tradd! I'm a cold-blooded sissy who has been running the heat since October.

We just started ours up yesterday but we have been burning wood for awhile now. We have oil heat and we all know how crazy expensive that is. So we're basically just keeping it very low to help heat some of the places the woodburning stove doesn't quite get warm enough.
