So, now we don't write sentences on Facebook? We just string together a bunch of words separated by hashtags?

Can one of you younguns explain it to me?

It's a twitter thang. Lot's of folks link their twitter and facebook accounts so that when they post to one, it is copied to the other.

yea it's a twiter thing, and really is pointless on FB, as there is no capacity to search by hashtags there.

ha! /rant/ it's why magazine and news articles are shorter, TV segments are shorter, language is getting shortened - we're going backwards to grunting like apes. /rant/

Ha ha. Rant away. I do think language is changing. Probably not for the better. But as an inbetweenager (35 years and do you like my new word?) it makes me feel young to learn how to communicate like the kids do. And learning new things exercises my brain. Yes, I have a twitter account. And I have used a hashtag on Facebook. Yes, it's not searchable, but I like how it allows me to add a subject line to a FB post. Please continue ranting.

I'm 51. I use twitter a lot. Facebook little. But lots of friends are not on twitter. So if I'm posting to twitter, I can add #fb at the end of the tweet and all my fb people can keep up with my life. The hashtags are just a side effect of the crosspost. No way am I gonna do all this twice ....

I did not know this. I'm sure I read it somewhere but it didn't stick. Thanks for mentioning it.

I thought that was just because we have less time to spend in the bathroom than before. #?
