It's a small house, about 450 sq. ft., created in an old garage.
I like it because it does not have that claustrophobic feel that many tiny houses have--there's light and air and space on the floor to lay down and do situps if you choose. The architect had to keep the same roof and the same footprint, but was able to create an outdoor patio, a kitchen, a dining area, an office area, a sitting area, tons of storage, a private bedroom and a tiny bathroom. It doesn't feel cramped. You don't have to move this and shift that and open the next thing to cook, or sit down or sleep. You can just live in the space normally.
It's my belief that the smaller a space is, the more you need to customize it to fit your needs. This space is an example of that.
