I don't know if I have talked about my staff who keeps on missing trainings, and does not contact me. The worst is that she is missing the First Aid class she needs. My staff has continued to miss 2 more opportunities plus some other trainings and has not called me. We had one write up and last night I needed to give her the more serious one that barrs her from getting any additional hours during school break camps. So yesterday was a day where I had experiences to suggest the type of boss I strive to be sometimes really is how I am. I saw a former staff of mine and her mom is also a former staff during the day. While we were chatting and I asked about her mom she said that her mom really misses me at that school. I know the staff love the new person when we reshuffled positions so that surprised me. Then I gave this write up. No fan fare or apologies, just calm and to the facts. I offered one thing I could do to make it easier to make it to the training that does not put too much work on me, but I also wrote into the document all the contact info for the First Aid classes so she is totally responsible for registering and talking to me. Her response was that she was sorry she put me in this position of having to write her up. It reminds me of the time someone thanked me when I told them they weere un-rehireable in our district for life because they quit and no showed during the 2 week period.
