Has anyone seen this? Looks interesting. Tales from people from around the country who are trying to redefine the American Dream. One of the filmmakers is the Man Vs. Debt blogger.

Sounds really interesting (and timely), but it's not at our library or on Netflix and $25 seems a little steep.

I found that off-putting as well. I am planning to do the $5 download.

You could put in a request for your library system to buy it. I did that with the most excellent My Big Fat Diet (First Nations community returns to more ancestral eating patterns) and Fat Head (a rational response to Supersize Me) and they have both in the system now.

Square Peg,
Did you watch the documentary yet?
I really enjoyed it. I teared up in a few parts just because I could relate to what the people were saying. I'd highly recommend the $5 download.

I totally get the concept of not living someone else's idea of what they think you should do....and I have and am currently taking steps towards discovering what my dreams are...(I quit my soul-crushing corporate job, moved to a state I love...)....I feel I'm moving towards the right path for myself. I feel really sorry for people who don't even realize they have other options...like the people who figure once they retire they will do what they want...and I feel sorry for people who are caught in the hamster wheel and going through the motions of everyday life...like they are just existing and not really living their best lives! I was one of those and am happy I am finding the way to MY life.

I really think this documentary would resonate with a lot of people. It kind of causes you to do some soul-searching

The movie was very nice, 4/5 stars.

Woke up very grouchy this morning with a splitting headache and really liked the pick-me-up this movie provided.

Would have liked to see a few more interviews with others but it really is about the guy pursuing his dream to be a filmmaker also.
It wasn't until the end that I realized one of the people interviewed, Jonathan Fields, is the author of a book I'm currently reading, Uncertainty: Turning Fear and Doubt into Fuel for Brilliance.
Also nice to see that this was a completed Kickstarter.com project :)

Now I'm off to pursue my personal dream...Have Fun with yours!
