I love it..small, simple, classic..for me. : )
I do have a dark pink tote that I bought at Target a year ago. It's already falling apart so I am on the hunt for something in leather to hold my laptop, mouse, paperwork, maybe a book and pen.

I bought a nice medium sized purse from Walmart. I have bought all my purses there for a long and they have held up well. My Mom gets really nice purses from Kohl's with a coupon and store bucks when on sale and they are really nice!
LOVE Kohls purses!!! I might have to go look there. :)
Ugh. Purses. I can't find the right one. I have requirements. Pockets. Lots of them. And exterior ones. And not dark inside! I can't find anything. Either they are too big, or not big enough. Because often I end up used my purse as a carryall. I often have many odds and ends. Toys, food, books, all sorts of things. But I've given up and found a small tiny bag to hold my phone and cards. It slings all the around over my shoulders, so I just take that and leave my purse in the car or drawer when I go into a store. Otherwise, I still want a bag that will hold a hairbrush, a bottle of asprin, chapstick, cough drops, candy, food, pens, checkbook, umbrella, gloves, sunglasses, etc.
no purse.
I have a wallet that I pop into my tote bag that carries my computer, notes, cell phone, keys (office and car). This wallet is a larger one -- looks like a little try-fold clutch purse.
to head out most minimally, i'll put DL, debit card, and keys in my pocket.
to head out next to most minimally, I'll take wallet and keys (keys can pop into a small pocket (change purse part) of the wallet).
and my max is the tote bag as described above. :)
I have a tiny (maybe 7"x 7")black leather cross-body and a couple of roomy totes and everything in between. At the moment I'm carrying a mid-size black Fossil (love their soft, soft leather), also cross-body. I'm partial to TJ Maxx for bags. I don't usually carry much more than a wallet, but if I did, I'd get an organizer insert.
I move my wallet around a lot too, but generally have a backpack, tote, or purse with me. Sometimes in winter I'll just put my wallet in one coat pocket and my phone in another. When DD was younger I had to carry a lot more stuff all the time, but now it's pretty minimal. I have a tiny crocheted bag that just fits my wallet, phone, keys, that I often pack when we travel, because I always take a backpack on the airplane but like to have a purse for outings once we get there. Usually I have what I would consider a medium bag, about 10"x10". Tomorrow I'll be reading review books while DD has sports activities, so I'll put the wallet and phone in my tote with multiple zippers and water bottle pocket, one of my favorite bags, along with all the books, my notebook, and my travel mug of rooibos chai.
My current purse is a small leather sling bag. I bought it because it has several external pockets to organize all the gadgets I carry around with me. One has tools, eyeglasses and a first aid kit, one has phone and lipstick, one has all the other daily necessessites (mints, hand lotion....)and there's a medium sized main compartment. Not so large that things get lost in there.
Small handmade leather shoulder bag, made by a leatherworker here in town. Likely will last forever. It holds my wallet, phone, and a pen. Passport when necessary. I don't have to carry baggies of cheerios, an extra diaper, a hairbrush, spare pantihose, etc. as I used to do, so I just don't. I prefer to just tuck the wallet and phone in a jacket pocket when I can.
If I have to go Out To A Meeting, then I carry a fabric tote with files and appointment books. If it is Professional and/or requires a laptop, then I have the briefcase. But mostly I carry as little as I can.

I recieved a Multi Sac handbag as a Christmas gift and love it! Normal carrying size is 9 x 7 x 2. It has three zipper sections, one on front, one on back and then the middle section unzips to turn the bag into a backpack. (there is also a version that unzips to turn into a tote bag). What I love the most is that when I turn it into a backpack, I don't have to repack anything! The normal items I carry in the two outside sections simply remain where they are and I simply utilize the middle section as needed. They purchased it from Boscov's and I'm on the hunt for the tote version. :-)
LOVE Kohls purses!!! I might have to go look there. :)I have a very small Kohls purse that I use. I generally don't carry it around much (just carry my wallet and keys and lave the purse in my car under the seat). It's much much smaller then the one you have pictured above but holds everything I need - a front closing pocket /pouch for a wallet, another front pocket for a cell phone, and zippered inner compartment that fits a small handgun, and another zippered inner pocket to hold car keys and sunglasses and a lipstick - but not much room for anything else. It's probably 7 inches long by 5 inches wide and has a long shoulder strap that I can wear it crosswise across my body on my hip. Use to carry one of those small knapsack-purses but it broke and now they don't seem to make them anymore.
I've found some great purses at thrift shops.
My light brown leather open lunch bag style with handles Dooney & Burke with certification was $5
My dark brown and black Wilson leather was $6 (it is yummy soft leather and my latest buy and what I'm carrying this week) I can fit my big cannon with extra lens in it as well as wallet, and other items.
I have a smaller red Wilson leather $5
I have a black Wilson that I bought at the outlet for $45
I probably have 8, I try to buy name brands and I like to switch them and my glasses (black, brown/black, or red) depending on what I'm wearing.

Handbags, expensive ones,are my downfall.
I would be embarrassed to say how much some of them cost. But, in mitigation, a number of them were birthday/Christmas gifts. And, apart from my ideal bag, I probably will never need to look for another, in my lifetime.
I have been looking for a very specific handbag. I would like it in black leather, not too deep, not too big, with a shaped bottom. No top zip. Sort of like a small, shallow, rectangular box... Oh, and with a shoulder strap. Can I find it? No, I can't! Forgot to say, I don't want tassels or other ornamentation. No gold or brass coloured fittings, either.
I have been looking for over a year. I've tried online, in shops here in the UK, in France and in Greece, but no luck. I know EXACTLY what I want, so I'll just have to keep looking. We're due to visit italy in the late spring. Maybe my bag is waiting there!
Small backpack that holds everything I need. I can unzip the one strap into two and slip them over my shoulders if I need my hands free.
I could fit a small dog in it. My boss calls me the "tiny woman with the great big pocketbook."
No wonder my shoulder hurts!

If you could only see the mental image I'm seeing!

I just downsized from a fairly large purse to a much smaller purse. It will carry only what I NEED with me at any given time - cellphone, keys, debit card, drivers license, insurance card, kleenex, sugar free gum, lip balm, small hairbrush, and pics of the grandkids. :) My old, much larger purse was really weighing me down, but I realized I had alot of excess stuff in it that I don't need on a daily basis, but maybe when traveling I will use this bigger purse...
I've also come up with a recent development of a "Satellite Purse" for vacations, museum visits, etc. This is a very tiny black leather shoulder bag (that I scored at Salvation Army for $4.50!). So my big bag is the "Mother Ship" with all my stuff. That stays in the car. The "Satellite" holds my wallet and a couple of other critical necessities, and comes with me into the shops, museum, etc.
This keeps me from carrying the heavy shoulder bag around for a long time and definitely reminds me of George Carlin's comedy routine on "Stuff."
When I head out of work with my shoulder bag, laptop bag, and tote bag, I probably look like a well-accessorized refugee carting all my worldly belongings, and I am indeed lugging about 25% of my body weight.
I have a backpack that I've had for years. I don't like into purses. I drag it to work and back, but don't really need it. It dates from the times that I walked to work.
When I was walking to work I would wear out a backpack per year because I always had books in it and they wore holes through the backpack. I can see why kids need a new backpack each year with all of the school books they haul around.
I have one of those tiny purses on a long string that goes around my neck. It's just big enough for credit, insurance etc cards in a rubber band, dog leash and dog citronella spray. Otherwise cards in pocket. For grocery shopping, a straw basket with handle. I carry keys, do not resuscitate tag, library cardlet on a lanyard around my neck.
