I was registering to be on a certain health forum, and I didn't realize it when I was filling out the info........but it gave me an entirely new Yahoo mail account. I don't want it. But now, when I read on their site about deleting a Yahoo account, it sounds like my other 2 Yahoo accounts might be deleted too. I don't want them deleted. Does anyone know if that will happen? or will it only delete the one account? I have too much info on the other accounts, to lose it.
I'm so mad at myself for even registering and getting myself into this mess. I've tried for a half hour to figure it out, but the "contact us" just has me going around in circles.
Anyone know for sure?
Thanks.

Cathy, try going into Yahoo with your usual ID. Then click on the silhouette icon (next to the gear and house icons, upper right). Then click on Account info. About halfway down the page that is returned to you, there is a heading called "Account Settings" and, under that, "Manage your Yahoo! aliases". Click that Manage link and see if the ID you want to delete is listed. There should be a Delete link next to it.

If that doesn't work, it sounds to me like you have an entirely different account, and deleting that should not affect your normal Yahoo account (even if you supplied all the same background information).

Thanks Steve. It said I didn't have any other aliases. But in the newest account, I gave a different birthdate and had a different password, so maybe it didn't get connected to my others?
I was trying to register to get onto a health forum, and you had to get a yahoo account to be allowed in. Isn't that sort of weird? Maybe it was a Yahoo connected forum, and I could get in by using my other accounts??
I would love to get rid of those other 2 accounts, but it would require me to go through about a half million old messages, to make sure I didn't get rid of something important. :0!
Thanks for your help!

Cathy, it sounds to me like this is an entirely new Yahoo account. If the health forum is a Yahoo Group, you should not have had to create a new ID; your old one should have sufficed. If it was another Web site, I wouldn't think they would care. But I'm diagnosing from a distance. :)
