I love hemp milk, of course there is no THC in it and it is so rich with vitamins and minerals. It is very thick and creamy with a nutty taste...

Now that my dog is older and does her pacing (I did mention this on another thread and she is on medication now due to one of the posters recognizing her symptoms, which I am so thankful for). But anyway I would like to feed her hemp milk because she has lost weight either from all the pacing she does or just that she is getting old. I did a little research on the Internet but didn't find much professional advice maybe someone here has dealt with this.

We have been feeding her as much more food that she will take and she could use to put on at least a pound.

Thanks everyone! Christine

To help older dogs gain weight if their appetite can't take more food by volume, try switching to a higher calorie per cup food, even a puppy food.

Thanks treehugger. I am going to try that! Great idea, thanks.

You can also just add some healthy oil onto the food for those extra calories without bulk.

Thanks Kestral, another great idea. My dog is a very picky so I'll see what I can do. :)

Perhaps some nice organ meat with a little extra fat? If nothing else, it will benefit her coat and nervous system. I'd stay away from plant-based foods, most of which aren't natural carnivore fare (except for some greens).

Merrick makes some lovely canned dog foods that have no fillers or junk. When I'm trying to put weight on our puppy, I add a little bit of duck to his food each meal. It makes his coat shiny and he just adores it.
