I have been griping to myself (and DH) about the high cost of our landline for the last 6 months, and now see not one but two of y'all talking about Ooma. So I get to researching and boy! I am intrigued. It looks reliable and frugal and doable. And we are not ready to give up our landline, for many and various reasons - but we sure are paying too much every month for it.
So can anyone tell me more about Ooma? Specifically, I'm wondering if it will give us "call quality" with the intermediate AT&T DSL we have. I am in the 2nd-from-the-bottom tier of DSL that AT&T offers - it says "up to 1.5 Mbps" speed. Is that "fast" enough to get decent call quality? Or do you have to have the fastest/highest/best internet connection?
Would appreciate any light anyone can shed on having Ooma service.
