View Full Version : "Ovarian Cyst Miracle"?
I've had alot of GI distress lately. I've also had fairly regular ovary cyst pain. Before going through a bunch of GI tests, I went to see the OB/GYN. I've been in menopause for 8 years, and worry about all these apparent cysts in combo with all the GI problems I'm having, since the symptoms of ovarian cancer are usually just GI-related. Actually, the only way I could get in soon was to see the nurse practitioner. All I wanted was a transvaginal ultrasound, to know if this pain was from an ovarian cyst, or if I should go to the GI doc. Well, I had it a week ago and they haven't even read it yet. :( They said it takes a week to 10 days to read it and get the results out. That sounds sort of ridiculous to me. How long can it take to read an ultrasound of 2 shriveled up ovaries and a uterus. :~)
Anyhow.......I was searching online for info about ovary cysts, and page after page after google page was about the book "Ovarian Cyst Miracle".......and how "3 easy steps" can totally get rid of ovarian cysts. Of course, I'm very doubtful, but I'm keeping an open mind. I was finally able to find out what one of the steps was........and it was to give up meat and shrimp.
Anyone here every read this book or know anything about this "cure"?
I don't want to buy the book if its just junk.
Thanks!
Sounds like total BS to me, as the best natural treatment for polycystic ovary disease is a low-carb diet--including (gasp!) meat. You could check it out of the library, I guess.

I switched to a more alkaline diet and the pain from ovarian cysts went away for good. Just easting a lot more fruits and veggies, especially broccoli and cutting out wine and coffee worked well. I do not know if technically there is still any cyst because I haven't anysymptoms to warrant another ultrasound. But I haven't had any pain in years and I used to be doubled over form pain some days.
You might try keeping a food diary and see if certain foods increase or decrease your pain. Broccoli is an anti-estrogenic food so maybe that is why it helped me.
A food diary is always a useful tool.
Well, they just called, and my ovaries looked totally normal (for a menopausal lady). So maybe I'm having phantom pain? haha
I guess I'm going to have to think of it in terms of being possibly an ielocecal valve pain. My previous GI doc quit medicine recently, so now I have to find a new one. I dread going, as I'm an alien with strange symptoms all the time, and I surely don't want a million tests, just to learn that its all "normal".
I did look online though, and it seems there are tons of women who had normal ultrasounds who still have alot of what feels like ovary pain.
My entire GI tract is acting up, so maybe I'm just having trouble with all my colon curves!
try2bfrugal...........I LOVE veggies and eat them all the time. But I'm discovering that if I eat too many (especially raw ones), my GI tract refuses to work (feels like gastroparesis........bloating, burping, loud animal sounds from my intestines, with extreme pressure and discomfort in my chest), so I've been avoiding fruits and veggies. I've heard that its hard when a person has slow gastric emptying, and also IBS, because what is good for the first problem, is bad for the second, and vice versa.

How does ovary pain feel and where would one feel it? Really I'm curious. I had an ultrasound that found cysts once, but really I got it because I was having bladder pain (with no infection). I"m premenopausal but they told me that cysts are pretty normal and come and go (usually with one's cycle if premenopausal).

It's been my experience that physical complaints in general come and go. You can drive yourself nuts obsessing over every twinge and pimple.
Cysts are fairly normal........but if you're in menopause and have them alot, it could increase your chances of ovarian cancer.
When I have what I'm sure is ovary pain, its lower now, 'cause my ovaries are lower, but its sort of right to the right of your bladder. Its pretty low. And it can be a constant ache. I would say its about 2" below your appendix and a little closer to your midline. When you say you had bladder pain without infection..........was it maybe ovary pain?? Or maybe uterine pain?
Just saw this old post and thought I would end the discussion by saying that my intermittent ovary pain was really an episodically inflamed appendix. I had it out last July........and haven't had any more of that "ovary cyst" pain.
And you can still eat meat and shrimp. :~) Glad you're feeling better.
