And I walked in...it closed behind me..and another opened. :)

I went to interview with a healthcare organization that is completely taking healthcare and turning it on it's ear. New approaches, practices, process, design etc.

I interviewed for a Directors position in patient access. I was doing well but they noticed on my resume my background is stronger in a different administrative realm. So during this interview, they flat out asked me to interview for another position and set me up for the second interview next week. WOW!!! Totally not expected but I do believe things happen for a reason. Things I like about this group:

1. Not faith based. Office was much more laid back and relaxed. Even in the way they dress and talk. It was respecftut but for the love of chocolate, they laughed. :)
2. They asked me about my dream opportunity and that I would be given the option to write the script for this department.
3. They were encouraging to allow me to learn.
4. Opportunity to be part of a groundbreaking team and HUGE growth potential.
5. Young and hip and everyone seemed really upbeat and excited, they didn't think the ideas I threw out were nuts.

Cons.
1. Still healthcare and I am just cautious.
2. The job I am applying for has yet to be created. I need more hard evidence before I would sign a thing. More defined jobs roles.
3. Pay- I am not sure where this will fall. Basically a start up but they are part of a 28 system hospital and owned by a HUGE $$$$ business.
4. Can't judge turnover because they are just getting started but am asking about everyone's background and why they came to this job.

So...wish me luck. I am taking it as it is.

That is excellent news. Being part of the beginning of something like this, with the autonomy they are promising, would be much more important to me than all of the stability and financial issues. I have had the opportunity to be in on the ground floor three times in my life (once where I was the creator and then brought other people on-board), and I can share that nothing beats that.

Thanks y'all. I am excited but cautious right now. I am sure by next week, I will throw caution to the wind and just let it fly as it may!!!: )

MamaM,
I read your other threads about your job and the issues and injustices. I wanted to tell you not to ever get down about being unemployed or losing that job. I was laid off 2 years ago and my attitude was to my ex-employer was "one day i will thank you for this". And it is true, I am truly thankful I was laid off. Now I work from home as I always dreamed of and I can go spend 2 weeks at a time caring for my gram in the city. I couldn't do that if I was still working in my old job at the library.

I hope that you will feel the same way even if you are still stung from how it all went down. Just remember that one day you will run into those people from that job and thank them for what they did because it put you on the path to better things. I fully believe that better things will come for you and I eagerly await the details when you do get a new job opportunity!!

Update: They are going to interview one more person and let me know next week. I am going to try and remain calm and positive and let it be. :)
