View Full Version : Chapped lips season is over!!!
Has spring- sprung, in your area?
The one and only thing on my mind... wiping down my clothesline and hanging a load of laundry! Should be any day now, provided the weather continues.
Share with me what you have in the making/works in anticipation of/and the arrival of spring.
We got about 8" of snow yesterday . . . maybe 10"? So I can only read your post with jealousy!!! :)
Shucks, Fidgiegirl. Here's hoping for warmer spring weather to visit you soon!

Same here, unsurprisingly. Spring is still a long time away. I'm looking forward to, as one of my co-worker said yesterday "that great feeling of walking on flat solid ground again", and not wearing my big boots and long underwear every day.
On the plus side it's not that cold and hasn't been too bad this year and the days are long enough.
Sending a little of our wonderful early spring weather your way, Kestra!
Y'all need to come down to Texas. 30's in the morning. mid 60's rest of the day. It hit 86 the other day. I have been opening the windows and was able to get out and prune my little front garden.
Yeah, close to 10" snow here... AND the next two mornings are supposed to be about 10 degrees. It's not over yet, here... <Long sigh>
Yes! I am so excited about the longer days and warmer weather. It is supposed to be in the 60s F here tomorrow and no cold weather on the horizion. Woke up in the 30s, brrr. I don't even live in a cold climate, but winter is just not for me.
March is one of our snowiest months and it is living up to it's reputation. Fortunately, the days in between have a breath of springtime in the air and the snow melts quickly. I have been putting super glue on the cracks in my dry skin near the tips of my fingernails all winter and they are finally starting to heal. I have sinus problems most of the winter from the dry cold air and that is starting to clear up as well (just in time for allergies).

I was given a gift Monday.
Didn't pay attention to the weather reports. We're up and down these days, it's colder, it's warmer, there's snow or there's not. February in Kansas.
But Monday.....it was glorious. 69 degrees, and no cold breezes. I was able to smell the hope of spring coming. Didn't see it coming, went to let the dog out and whoa! it's nice outside. Spent most of the rest of afternoon wandering about the place looking for spring-like things to do. (found a lot of flower-bed weeding).
A glorious early-March day is a gift indeed.
We've had 20 inches of snow just in the past week!! :help:
Spring is a ways away, sadly....
I'm not expecting the winter weather to be over just yet, but my horse is starting to shed his fuzzy winter coat already. Before I know it, his winter blanket will be put away, the fly spray will be brought out, and the bugs will be here.
Can't wait til we turn our clocks ahead this weekend. That will make a bit of a difference. Winter wouldn't seem so long if it wasn't so dark.
Sending a little of our wonderful early spring weather EVERYONE'S way!
I'm just as happy to continue winter for a bit, after our jaunt in Phx and the winter that wasn't last year. We were supposed to have a blizzard today but really only about 2 inches of snow or so. But, any snow is good snow! It's supposed to be near 70 later in the week so it might be the first week we grill for dinner. I hope todays wasn't the last snow, but who knows with climate change?

We just had about six inches of snow where I live but then today it was in the fifties! :). I did see some flower shoots coming up even though it has not been spring-like here much... Think it is around the corner!:)
Not spring here yet either. But the temperature is supposed to be above freezing all week, the snow is in that nasty blackened and rotting condition and I can hear the birds! The birds are a great sign. They must be tapping the maple trees around here with temperatures warm (34) in the daytime and below freezing at night.
I have learned to appreciate the more subtle signs of late winter here. It will likely be May before the weather is really warm. And that would only mean in the 60s.
So lovely hearing from everyone!
Yes, the sound of our feathered friends, is a definite sign that spring isn't far off.

Very similar to here. 27 degrees in the morning then, today it was 70 degrees. a bit of shock. I felt very hot.
Yes, Tiam, I know exactly what you and MamaM, mean. Yesterday I was tidying up the entryway, and had the door open while I was washing-down the door-sill/threshold/shelves, and wow... the sun coming through the glass was too much. I need time to acclimatize to changes in weather.
