Okay I am having an expensive month here already, I fixed my 17 year old vacuum up with everything recommended and that was $250 (I totally love my vacuum, it has a hepa filter and is still better than anything else after 17 years). I have guests from out of town so we are eating out, my son has a birthday, car registration (under $100 for my car) and a few other things. However I took a leap and took money out of savings to pay off my cash reserve on my checking account, It will save so much in finance charges but I still was nervous, and I just paid my one credit card left and it is about $2,500 left to pay it off. Considering my income and expenses I am proud of paying it down and not using it. If I work all summer which is extra pay I will have enough to pay it off and possibly put an engine in my older subaru so my son can drive when he gets his license.

Great progress!
And I agree that a vacuum that has lasted 17 years is likely far better than anything manufactured today!

Go go go! I fixed my old Hoover Wind Tunnel for the same reason. The repairman told me that it's a really good one. You can also find them at the Salvation Army sometimes. Keep up the great work. It's all about focus and discipline. Once you don't have those interest payments anymore, things will get much easier.
