View Full Version : Mommy clothes...
Did you have special mommy clothes when your kids were babies?
My typically daily mommy outfit (in the day)... pastel tank tops with sweats. Comfy, no binding/pinching! Nothing worse than having waistbands cut into your tummy, and snug-fitting pant-legs bite into your thighs! Especially after childbirth!
Tanks were so convenient for spit-ups, etc. Quick on and off! No fuss washing/drying, too! A quick hand-wash, out back to the clothesline, dry in an hour!
Tank top and loose yoga pants (the flowy leg kind) and flip flops...oh wait..I still dress like that 7 years later. ;)
Good on you, MamaM! Comfort is what it's all about!

Boat Neck knit shirts and take the tags out.... if you end up with a mess on the front, you just turn the front to the back and you are good to go! :)

When my first son was under a year my mommy outfit consisted of blue checkered pjs!
Thanks for checking in, Mtnlaurel and Mighty Frugal!
LOL, Mtnlaurel!
The blue-checkered pj's sound oh so comfy, MF! So fuss-free and easy.
My uniform was not much different than now. LOL
I wore yoga pants and tank top, and then the outer layer of skirt/long-sleeve shirt. I would then wear my scarf (as per usual), and then have outer layers of sweaters/jackets/coats as needed.
I carried a bright purple, large Jessica Simpson bag that housed: diaper bag (small toiletries case that had cloth wipes, clean diapers, and a wet bag area -- we rarely used this stuff because of the EC, but it was great); storch wrap; extra change of clothes for him and for me; wallet/keys/sunglasses/cell phone; book, notebook and pens; lunch/snack items.
This way, everything was easy to carry and get around. :) Yay!
it was the best for breastfeeding because nothing was uncovered and no one ever harassed me about it. That could be because they noted my energy of "I don't suffer fools." Or it could be that I was always pretty much completely covered.

Mind you my babies are now in their mid 30's, but I remember spending alot of the first few months of mommyhood in my "breastfeeding nightgowns". They were nightgowns made with openings to breastfeed. I ordered them from a Sears catalogue. Do they still have those now? They certainly made life easier, so I lived in those when I was at home for the whole day with baby. I would put on a robe really quick if someone came to the door. ;)
Once I got out of the breastfeeding stage I pretty much dressed the same as I do today. :) Casual, comfortable clothes.
Comfy... so far... among us all... seems to have been the key!
Re: nightgowns that open for breastfeeding... I'll bet Sears doesn't carry them anymore, Wildflower.
