Comparison shopping for electrical suppliers

Has anyone done this? A few years ago, we went with a 2-year contract with Dominion as our supplier. They guaranteed that we would pay at least 10% (if I recall correctly) less than the rate charged by National Grid. This two year deal has expired, and now it appears that we are paying more for our electricity through Dominion.
A salesman came to the door tonight from Just Energy, and he is the one who pointed out that we're paying highing than National Grid prices. I checked online and it sounds like Just Energy has had lots of issues with slimy sales tactics, so I don't think I want to do business with them. But I do think I want to see about going back to National Grid as my supplier. Does anyone have any experiences to share in this realm?
I don't know if other states work the same way, but we can choose from different energy suppliers, and the bill, service, transmission, etc. is still through National Grid.

I'd be interested in hearing about your experience. I talked to someone at Dominion at a farmers conference last summer, and while it sounded interesting, I didn't actually move on it. We're still with National Grid by default.

I keep meaning to post on this again and I'm finally getting around to it. I comparison shopped the suppliers available to me as a National Grid customer in the Boston area, and here is what I found:
National Grid - 7.3 fixed through 5/1/13
Viridian - between 7.19 and 9.49 flex, with the 9.49 being all wind-generated
Dominion - 7.99 fixed through 10/13 or 8.45 fixed through 12/13
Easy - 7.89 fixed through 6/13, 8.10 variable
Just - 6.95 flex and can lock in if rates start to increase (appears that lock-in period is 5 years, I thought details were a little fuzzy)
MX - 9.4 locked, 11.4 variable
First Point - rates not posted
Great Eastern - rates not posted
Since we were paying a higher rate through Dominion (flex) than the standard rate from National Grid, we switched to NG and I'm going to look at the rates again after they adjust on 5/1.
