Sump pumpts - pedestal or submersible better?

This house has a needed sump pump that runs quite a bit in spring and fall after thawing or heavy rains. I need a spare and am not sure whether to get a pedestal or submersible. Is there any advantage to either that I should be aware of?
Any advice appreciated!
