I know in the past, several posters have commented they love Moleskine notebooks, but not the prices.
If you want the real thing, Amazon is the cheapest. I get the softcover "large" size (5"x8") that cost $18 at Barnes & Noble for about $12 on Amazon.
I was at Walmart today in the office products section. They have "journals" from CR Gibson, in different colors. They're hardcover and very similar to the Moleskines, right down to the ribbon bookmark, elastic to keep the book closed, and the pocket on the inside rear cover. The small, pocket size were $5.50 and the 5"x8" ones were $8. I got one of each. They were hot pink, I couldn't pass them up!;) Paper quality seems pretty decent.
There were even packages of the multiple small journals together (as Moleskine also makes). I don't remember how much they were, but I believe there were 3 in a package.
