We've done #3, Hwy 1 in CA, several times, and yes, it's awesomely beautiful. Living in Idaho, #4, Magruder/Nez Perce, has been on DH's list for awhile, but I choose not to go ... that's a long way to go without a bathroom! He and our sons and probably grandsons will do this, and good for them :D . Working for the Forest Service and living out in the middle of nowhere we've taken some logging road "short cuts" from-here-to-there, some of which DH designed, that would scare the you-know-what of most flatlanders ... but I was younger and braver then, and trusted DH ... . Not that I don't still trust him ... but .... no thank you ...

Lincoln Highway.

For me the Iowa segment awaits.

Not one of those strikes me as at all do able. Way too chicken!

I have a mild fear of heights, but have done the Moki Dugway two or three times. It is well worth the lurching stomach and crawling speed for the great views. The million dollar highway in Colorado is a relative piece of cake and one of the prettiest drives in the state during summertime. The Nez Perce Trail looks like a fascinating drive. Neat list.

The Dragon's Tail in NC/Tenn. is a crazy ride thru the country. We were led this way by our GPS and at the end found it was a famous motorcycle ride due to the huge number of switchbacks and banked turns. The other road that was similar was from Redding CA to the coast. I don't think there was one small patch of straight road for the whole ride. Beautiful but nauseating for me.

The Million Dollar Highway is pretty, but I used to have to drive it fairly regularly in the winter. White knuckle the whole way, especially over Red Mountain Pass. I really hated that part of the drive! It's fun in summer if you don't get stuck behind a Winnebago. We've done Moki and Hwy. 1, both beautiful. Would love to do the Nez Perce, preferably on a motorcycle.

This is the Tree Of Shame, for those who couldn't make it without mishap, at the entrance to the Dragon from Deals Gap NC. (None of those parts are mine by the way.)

I love these - thanks for posting them. I've been on some of them - and the Calif coast a bunch - but would love to do some of the crazier ones.... maybe :-)

We biked the Million Dollar Hwy during Bicycle Tour of CO when it was a big thunderstorm. Yikes! Some others look pretty sweet.

We drove the California coast line when I was visiting my cousin back a few years ago. It sure was gorgeous. The other drives looks great. Beautiful to terrifying.
