We have been receiving mail at the same address for almost 10 years with no problems, but I'm discovering that our mail has been not being delivered as it should for the last year or so.

One piece of mail was returned to my student loan servicer and they seemed to have immediately used this as a way to screw me on my loan. Never mind that I have tons of other nasty letters from them which I have rec'd. This is ALL from a loan which I had set up to have all documents electronically delivered!!
I've had to call in the lawyers on this one :(

After filling out our fed tax returns I went to my Roth IRA to send more money and discovered my account frozen because of returned mail?? This account was also set up to receive ALL documents electronically!! Thankfully I had plenty of time to just open a different IRA with my CU to still properly deposit the money into and IRA for 2012 while I figure out how to fix my preferred RothIRA account.

Then my husband's parents received a letter regarding one of his investment accounts because they had rec'd a piece of returned mail.

This has all been very, very frustrating and I really just want to warn everyone that even if you have everything set up to be delivered electronically it's not.

Be vigilant with your accounts!! You may not realize there is a problem until it is a huge mess.
Ultimately our mail should have still be coming to us as it has for almost 10 years but this pattern led to my discovering that our mail carrier sadly has a terminal illness :(

Yikes. I wonder if your mailbox has been pilfered and someone is redirecting your financial mail by reporting a new physical address to them? I would hope they would need pin numbers or other security to do this, but I don't know.

Or, is the mail carrier getting things mixed up? Sad news about the carrier, but glad you were able to recognize the mail situation.

These companies are reporting our mail has been returned to them as undeliverable so I'm not concerned it is being stolen. All of the accounts are still accessible and none of our personal information has been changed.

We only get about 6 pieces of mail per month so we would easily notice if something expected was missing. It's these unexpected pieces of mail that should have been sent electronically that are the problem at this point.
