View Full Version : Can bodywash be used as bubble bath?
Probably sounds like a silly question but I wonder if bubble bath and body wash gel are interchangeable or is one stronger than the other. The ingredients seem similar.
Anyone tried substituting?

I can't see why you wouldn't be able to use it as a bubble bath since you use it on your whole body anyway. I would just be careful if it is heavily perfumed if you are sensitive, even if you are not it could irritate the skin since you would be using more.... :)

I would guess they are formulated differently and that bubble bath is made to make, well, more bubbles. But I wouldn't think it would hurt you.

I've used it for bubble bath for the kids...and just what Kelli said..it works, just not as well as actual bubble bath, it makes less bubbles.

I would be careful about using anything as bubble bath. Bubble baths can be very irritating to the urinary tract. Ask me how I know. :(

I agree.
As much as a bubble bath sounds great - its not something I do. The chemicals in water and soaps are too much for me.
I can swim all day at the lake and be fine, a 5 minute bath leaves me with hives and worse.

I have Aveeno Baby body wash/shampoo here for when my grandkids come to visit. About a year ago I thought to try it as a bubble bath for myself. It works wonderfully. Just a capful and I have luxurious bubbles with absolutely no irritation ever, since it's formulated for a baby's skin. I will keep buying this stuff forever. A bottle goes a long, long way, and it leaves my skin so soft. They have it in most stores in the baby/child care section. I buy it at Target here.
If it bubbles, then bubble-bath it is! :)
Some of my famous inventions (household finds) came by way as a chance... an idea I had... a shot in the dark if you will, where I tried something and it worked. The old saying, "you never know until you try", melds wonderfully into this thread.
