I noticed recently that when I purse my lips to drink something from a cup, they tremble. I was getting a bit concerned about it. I googled it and it looks like its not uncommon. Seems like some people have had big work-ups over it, and nothing shows up. So I guess I won't worry. Sure makes me feel like an old fart though. :~)
Anyone else?

A lack of magnesium is one possible cause of tremors, tics and twitches. Magnesium is needed for muscles to relax.

You might also have low blood sugar. I often forget to eat, or don't eat enough when I'm doing something physical, and I get these little tremors thru out my body and especially on my lips. As soon as I eat something they go away.

I am on a medication where one of the side-effects is tremors. I do have them on my tounge, not too pretty, but are you on medication maybe with this side effect?

Thanks everyone,
I'm on plenty of Calcium, magnesium, D, and B12. I'm on a little bit of Metoprolol (a beta blocker) and a little bit of sertraline (zoloft). I'll have to keep track of if it happens mostly after drinking a coke (which I do 1-2 times a week). It wouldn't surprise me if it was the sertraline. It can do funky things with muscles.....but I've been on it for a long time and its only been recently that the lip thing started up.
Spartana.......unfortuately, I never have the problem of forgetting to eat! haha
I'll just keep my eye on it and if it gets worse, I'll see my doc about it. I guess it might be one of those strange, unexplainable things.
Thanks for your suggestions!

Cathy, you may want to check the side-effects of Zoloft...?8

Probably the coke (caffeine) is causing it. I get tremors from caffeine quite easily.

I had that side effect from Wellbutrin. Minor but kind of freaked me out. Maybe because I hate to take any kind of medicines to start with, so don't have a lot of tolerance for even minor side effects. Anyway, I found it was not a problem on a lower dose.

Calcium causes muscles to contract

If you take calcium you need to take magnesium wit up it for absorption...magnesium is really good fro the nervous system so maybe that would help?

I take the necessary amount of calcium and magnesium. Any more magnesium, and the big D happens.:|(
