View Full Version : where to stay near Moab?
we are planning a trip next spring from up near Vancouver BC to Moab for my husband's 60th. We don't have to stay in Moab the whole time, but where are good places to stay where we can have access to a kitchen?
I see some nice places at Moab Air B & B
I don't know this area at all. We want to rent a car and drive around, so is it cheaper a bit further out? Thanks.
We stayed in little teeny towns south of Moab (Bluff and Blanding) last fall because the prices in town seemed high. Definitely cheaper but will probably just stay in Moab if we go again. You might check Monticello.
We've been there several times, although we take our kitchen with us, so can't recommend accommodations since we stay at an RV Park just outside Arches. I do know that wherever you stay, you'll really enjoy the area. Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse State Park are truly wonders. I'd also recommend a boat tour of the Colorado River if you have the time. It's beautiful!
I would check with www.tripadvisor.com to get an idea. When we went to Utah we stayed in St. George and went around to a number of state parks but used St George as our home base.

We're like Alan, we take our home (RV) with us and visit Moab quite often by staying at campgrounds. But if you want the Moab experience I would definitely stay there in town, it's worth it at least one time. Oh wait, come to think of it there IS an RV park with little inexpensive camping cabins. It's on the main drag and pretty convenient. I wish I could remember the name of it!
