the Indian family across the street asked if they could cut branches off my evergree bush for a wedding. They also asked last year and it is totally okay with me. Very nice actually to know my landscaping has that value. Then the young man invited us to his wedding. I am not sure how serious he is, so any advice on that? I do want to bring over at least a small gift and say hi. We have not gotten to know our neighbors much but they all seem very nice.

Maybe a fruit basket or somthing for a home? No idea here,..

How nice of them to invite you. An Indian wedding can be so much fun and beautiful. A fruit basket or maybe a plant for their garden or patio would be a nice idea and great way to get to know them. If you are interested, a nice conversation starter is to ask for some recipes or advice on some Indian food.

(I learned that my Indian friend gets some of her dishes frozen from Trader Joes which floored me.)

He does intend to invite you...Indian weddings are usually gigantic! I agree with Sweetana's suggestions. Have fun!

ah Zoe I really wish that I could go with you.

Years ago a guy at work got married to a Indian girl and they had the ceremony in the Hindi temple and I am still sad that I wasn't able to go! Regular weddings bore me, but I would have loved to have seen that one.

My first thought as to a gift would be an evergreen tree, sounds like they need one. Seriously, the invitation is a nice gesture. Go, take the fruit basket and have a good time.
