I can't believe how many birds we have here this year for spring migration . Here are 4 beauties.

A male scarlet tanager, a male Baltimore oriole, a male magnolia warbler, and a Northern Parula (a first for me!)

CathyA, how beautiful! So far I've seen two Meadowlarks, the first in ages - and my sister has Whippoorwills for the second straight year, after not hearing any for a decade or more!

We were thrilled to see a group of Indigo Buntings for the first time on our property!

Beautiful pictures Cathy!

Lucky! Lately I've been entranced in the morning when I wake up to birdsong. I wish I could identify them better. The Audubon website has recorded ones, but it's still hard to figure out exactly what you're hearing, especially if going by memory.

Thanks everyone. Maybe I should have posted this under the hobby forum! I really enjoy watching them.
Its amazing how the different birds come back to the exact same area every year......even after their long migration.
The brown Thrasher seems to always find the top of the same tree and the pewee finds the trees by the lane, and the phoebes find the house to nest on.
Ain't nature grand? :)
