View Full Version : Lower cost chiropractic care
After putting it off far too long I called the clinic associated with the Palmer School of Chiropractic near me. A visit is $25, and I had 5 x-rays for just $125. They also offer a discount for military and treat 20% plus disabled veterans for free. For people with very very low incomes it can also be free. It's a teaching facility so I had a 'real' chiropractor, and intern and a student all helping me. I feel 100% better after just two treatments.

That is a great deal and great experience in having the chiropractor, intern and student all there at the same time. Chiropractic is the only thing that ever helps my back, neck and hips. I love it and wish I could afford more...great that you found a really good situation for yourself. :)
That is really a great deal.
Luckily our insurance started paying for the chiro several years back. The co-pay kind of goes up and down though. It was $20 Then it was $30. Now it's $20 again. I used to go very regularly and he really helped me out. I had been having muscle strain/migraine headaches regularly and even if I didn't have a head ache it still hurt. Now I very rarely have an issue with that. What a relief.
Now I go when I need to. Well, for a couple of years I could never seem to find the money and always put the visits off too long. Now I take $5 out of every paycheck and when I have enough I go. One of my smartest ideas ever lol
I also have an envelope for massages and am hoping that means I will be getting more than 1 massage every 15 months. lol Just had both chiro & massage last week. Oh it was wonderful!

That is great Azure that you can afford it regularly. Right now we have bought a house in December and are house poor due to projects so my visits are infrequent.
I am very blessed to have a chiropractor who goes to great length to stretch out the muscles before giving me his adjustment. I can feel the difference in my muscles for quite a few days. So I really would love to afford massage but at least I am getting some muscle work. That is nice that you are putting money away for messages. It must feel great to have long massage and then have your adjustment. Do you prefer deep tissue massage? Chris
I prefer any kind of massage LOL But seriously, I don't think I have ever had a massage that the therapist said it was a deep tissue massage. But I do like a good firm touch. This last massage I used a Groupon.
I know I kept putting off adjustments until I was in so much pain I'd have to go and find the money somewhere. That $5 every 2 weeks is easier to save than trying to find the $20 in a hurry. But there are times I have to skip adding to the massage envelope.

I have never had a deep tissue massage but would love to try one and also try a lymph draining one. I rarely get to a massage but at one time desperately wanted to be a massage therapist....:)
I'm a massage therapist and haven't had a massage in over three years!
My insurance doesn't cover chiro work so I've been asking around to see which ones are recommended and how much they charge if you're uninsured; so far, between $30-$50. My body is soooo tight that they have to use the TENS machine for a while on me.

Hi pony mom, there is an excellent chiropractor in Long Valley that we see. His name is Dr. Knobelman. If you cannot tolerate the TENS machine he will stretch out your muscles himself which the effects last for days for me. He also has another office that is possibly closer to you. He has no fancy office, his office here smells like his dogs, which doesn't matter to me, and I bet it wouldn't matter to you either but I've been seeing chiropractors on and off since I was eighteen and he is really great.
Hope you get adjusted soon and get a massage.
Are you still working with the exercise/release balls? Chris
I'm on the floor with those balls and my foam roller daily, Christine. My body feels it if I miss a day.
When I can scrape up a few bucks I'll drag my tight crippled body to someone----I'll check your doctor out.

Hi again, glad that you at least have the balls to work with, without that I don't know how you could go on giving massages. Have you ever thought of trading massage with another massage therapist? Maybe that could work?
Btw, how is your horse?
