View Full Version : What do you consider a nice thank you gift to a co worker?
I want to give a frugal gift to a co worker/not a friend. Of course, candy, flowers, coffee mug or coffee card. But I always feel lame about it and then, last minute gifts leave me struggling. I need one by tomorrow morning. Any ideas?
Coffee cards are a favorite around here, I don't think that is lame at all (unless they don't drink coffee).

Gift card to a chain of gas stations or gas stations/convenience stores in your area?

Sometimes it may feel lame to give a gift card (not sure why, but maybe not too much thought? fixed dollar amount?), but I think they are always nice to get. I never buy coffee at coffee places (out of my budget) but I enjoy using gift cards when I get them.
For me personally, though, if I wanted to give a thank you gift to a coworker, I would write a thank you note and bake something. But, I know lots of people don't like home baked goods, so that's not universally satisfying either.

What does said person like? I often think of gifts from the kitchen, because, well, cooking is what I do. Such as:
homemade bread and homemade jam
homemade dark chocolate/nut and/or dried fruit clusters
strawberries dipped in dark chocolate
a special cake
homemade granola or trail mix

Since you have little time I think a coffe card from Starbucks would be nice, or Dunkin Donuts where she could get coffe or tea, whichever she prefers. At Christmas My Mom gives all of us a $10.00 Dunkin Donuts gift card which is very affordable. A nice card, or note since cards are so expensive would be nice!

Well, I don't know much about her. She just works with me. I know nothing about her personally. That's why it's such a generic question. I'm heading to the pharmacy tomorrow, so I will grab something there. Probably chocolate. Like it or not.;)
