How to work from home with two rooms (living and bedroom) usable and four dogs and a parrot? I can't concentrate.

This time of year is nice, surely you can boot them outdoors.

I booted one of mine outdoors today and then he hugged the door as though I was never going to let him in. He is good natured and sweet, but he is completely mama and daddy's boy having no life outside of us.

And prior to that,n, I ran out doing errands and found that I left one of the grannies outside for 2 hours, fortuantley, it' was overcast and not terribly hot.

You could put you dogs in doggie day care. My sister and her husband do this on Friday's and then his Mother takes him to her house with her on Wednesday and Thursday after getting the children off to school. Maybe some relative would enjoy their company for a few days a week? Maybe you can check out doggie day care and see how you feel about your criteria you would have for them.

Think you would have to see about you bird though. There might not be much you can do for him/her....chris

I live in a two room work at home situation and have a pug so I sympathize with your not being able to carve out sonic and physical work space. My situation is easier since it's just me and the pug. 90%+ of my clients like pugs so I rarely have to put her in the back room.

Parrots are endearing and demanding. I don't know what you can do about that noise but perhaps you can have a treat or chew ready to throw when you get an important phone call.

I think this is a dog training issue. You are the alpha and the dogs should be happy with your programme. 4 dogs can keep each other very happy outdoors - you should not give in to their pleas.

I suggest going to your local dog licensing office and asking for advice. Lots of volunteers there will probably have workable ideas.

If you do not have a workable yard, the doggie day care idea mentioned above is a good one. That can be pricey. Perhaps you can team up with other work from home ppl with dogs and trade off with having dogs so you each get a break.

Good luck! pn

Lainey, I'd suggest working in whatever room the animals aren't in the most, probably the bedroom. Then, close the door!

Parenthetically, I think doggie day care is a brilliant development. There's one nearby, and all the dogs seem happy. Much better than languishing alone and lonely.
