View Full Version : Drowning!
Well, not entirely, but we had over 11" of rain in May and might get a shower again today. We only average 28" a year! I guess we are now out of the drought. Our poor garden is so soggy. Fortunately all the plants are in raised beds and we mixed some sand in with the soil and compost used to fill them. The pathways between the beds are a muddy mess because I didn't get a chance to put down fabric and gravel as planned before the deluge. So it goes. Anyone else been inundated with rain lately?
Not nearly enough...Our weather pundits predicted it for about a month straight, and we've had a few days of good rain and lots of clouds. I'm pretty sure everyone else is looking forward to upcoming sunny weather.
Please feel free to send your extra rain our way!! We need it!!

We are also recently inundated. In fact, have the TV on tonight for no other reason than to watch the storm coverage to make sure we don't need to head to cover.
Had to move the patio (3) plants up onto the patio, 'cause the bed they were in was covered with water and not draining. Hoping for the best on the garden itself - it's a traditional in-the-ground garden, with decent drainage, so hoping for the best. We've had just short of 5 1/2" in the last 36 hours.
Nope, hot and dry enough that most of the lettuce is bolting. The basil and tomatoes are happy, though!
Having a hrd time keeping up with the lawn these days due to the amount of rain.
We've had lots of rain too. The one end of my garden is drowning a bit in standing water. Hopefully the butternut squash nearby will be okay.
